Fez Chefchaouen Tour 2 days 1 night

The first day Of Fez Chefchaouen Tour 2 Days , We’ll meet you at your accommodation in Fes and start travelling to Merzouga via Ifran and Midlet. During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Highier Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest - the largest in Morocco – where you may well sight Barbarian monkeys. We’ll travel through the Tizi n’ Talghamt Pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock. Continue along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. We’ll drive through welcoming Berber villages to Erfoud, and then Rissani, arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dune line to meet your desert guide and camel trek across the sand dunes to sleep under the stars in a deep desert camp.

Description

Arriving at Casablanca International Airport. In Casablanca you’ll visit Hassan II Mosque, the biggest mosque outside Mecca and experience the Cornich coast before departing for Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here you’ll see the Mausoleum, the Hassan tower and the oudaya Kasbah. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad. Bed and Breakfast.
After breakfast in the hotel and after exploring the city of Rabat we travel to Fes via Meknes and Volubilis. In Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco, you will see the fascinating gate Bab Mansour built by the sultan My Ismail; the granary and the Sahrij Souani used for irrigation and plantation. In Volubilis, the well preserved Roman empire dating to 225BC, you will see some mosaics that are still in very good shape before continuing on to Fes via the countryside and the foothills of the Rif Mountains. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, you’ll start exploring the cultural capital of Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by the Royal Palace, the Jewish headquarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco. We’ll ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region and the Tanneries. After lunch, you will visit the ceramic factory and take in a panoramic view of the whole Medina of Fes. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the new city for a drink. Overnight accommodation is in your Riad.
After breakfast in your Riad, you’ll leave Fes travelling towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then to Merzouga via Azrou and the Ziz Valley. During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may see Barbary apes. You’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. Your journey continues to Merzouga via the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the afternoon you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check in to your Kasbah; Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast in the Riad we’ll start exploring the area, visiting the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle and the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations. You may also want to see the nomad wire house where many Berber handicrafts are priced lower than in the big cities. In the afternoon you can ride your camel, guided by an experienced camel man to explore within the sand sea of Merzouga, enjoying a wonderful sunset over the golden dunes and an overnight stay at the desert camp, equipped with flash toilets.
Waking early will reward you with the best sunrise of your life. Afterwards, you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga. En-route you won’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in the Riad, you’ll leave for Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the Dades valley. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast in the hotel we’ll drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Marrakech. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. We’ll stop at Kalaa Mgouna, “the rose city”, to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over before heading to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. The Kasbah was built by Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains during the 18th century, now a house of many Glaoui people. Your journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n’tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, before ending at your accommodation in Marrakech. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast in the Riad , you can start exploring Marrakech ” the red city of Morocco”. Your guide will ensure that you see the most important places of historical and cultural interest, including the Saadien tombs; the Palaces of El Bahia and El Badi and the Ben Youssef Coranique School. Lunch is at a restaurant near the square, then in the afternoon you’ll see the gardens at Majorelle, Menara and the Koutoubia tower. After dinner you will have the opportunity to walk around the ‘Square Jemaa El Fna’ full with magicians, story tellers, snake charmers and food sellers. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad. After Breakfast you’ll have the option to explore more of Marrakech and its monuments or have a day trip to the Ourika valley and experience the Berber culture. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.

The day will begin with a guided tour of Fez, perhaps the most famous of the imperial city after Marrakech. You can start your tour of the old city of Fès (Fès el-Bali) and its medina, the largest and most famous in the Arab world. It continues with the visit of the madrasa Bou Inania, the Koranic school in Fès, where boys studied the Koran between rooms, chapel and a magnificent patio. The tour then continues through the Chouara tannery, discovering the leather processing system, the first clean-up from the hair to the color with natural dyes. The city tour ends Beffarne passing through the square, where coppersmiths and tinkers populate the square and adjacent streets. Dinner and overnight in riad.
This morning, after breakfast, we will go to Meknes, a World Heritage Site Unesco, first through the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, ancient Roman capital whose ruins are located in the middle of a fertile plain. From here we head to Chefchaouen where we will arrive in the afternoon. Chaouen, white and blue city, is located in the cavity between two mountains. steep and narrow streets with a white and indigo plaster buildings, squares, fountains from the beautiful decorations and houses with richly adorned doors, along with the red-tiled roofs, make it a delightful town. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Before reaching our destination today we will visit two beautiful cities: Tetouan and Tangier. In Tetouan, a city declared UNESCO World Heritage Site, visit the picturesque medina where you can meet many craft shops embroiderers, gunsmiths, dyers, tanners. In Tangier we walk through the Great Souk of the Medina, characterized by narrow streets and houses with beautiful courtyards; We meet a belvedere overlooking the sea and the Small Souk, a small square where you can enjoy a mint tea. We will continue our path until you get to Assilah, a city known for its long sandy beaches and its international festivals. Its waterfront is a great place to watch the beautiful sunsets and listen to the street musicians playing traditional instruments of the region. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. In the morning we will resume the road to Fès.

Excursion Fes to Middle Atlas 

Starting from Fez towards Ifrane, the landscape varies with altitude. After crossing the agricultural plain of Saiss with olive trees, you first reach a fruit-growing region (apples, pears, apricots, peaches …) located around Imouzzer Kandar at an altitude of 1000 to 1300 m before reaching the floor of green oak forests, then upstairs majestic cedar forests, over 1500m. Above, over 2000m, on forest plateaus down to give way to vast landscape of steppes, instead of summer transhumance. Each season has its charms and colors. Spring, between March and May according to altitude is especially beautiful. Bring warm clothes, the weather is often cold and rough from November to May, the days of bad weather. Snow is common.

DAY 1 : FES - CHEFCHAOUEN

Chefchaouen is located in a privileged setting at the foot of the mountain range of the Rif. Chaouen, which means in Berber language “horns”, is a city that has managed to combine perfectly the arrival of tourism with the authenticity. It is one of the jewels of Morocco.
In the early hours of the morning we will pick you up at your hotel and start our way to the city of Chaouen. On arrival, free time to explore the city at your leisure. Within the Medina do not miss the plaza Uta Hammam, the heart of the city and an ideal place to eat.
You also should not miss out for the Great Mosque, with a curious octagonal tower and the Kasbah, which contains a garden, a museum and an art gallery. Out of the medina, the most famous landmark is the Ras El-Maa waterfall, where the sound of the water and the green hills provide a large dose of fresh air. DAY 1: MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – DADES GORGE
With a pick-up in Marrakech we’ll drive to Ouarzazate through the dramatic Tizi ntichka pass (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on twisted roads through the Berber villages. Arriving at the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO matrimonial historical site, now and a house of many Glaoui family members. Lunch by the Kasbah and we’ll continue to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”. On through the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”- the fascinating “sand castles” before stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May, and then continuing to our hotel overlooking the Dades Valley. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad. Dinner Bed and Breakfast.
DAY 2: DADES GORGE – TODRA GORGE – MERZOUGA
After breakfast in the hotel, drive back through the valley to see the amazing rock formation “the monkey toes”, and the still-standing 19th century Kasbah of Ait Yul. Leaving the Dades valley towards Tinrghir and the Todra valley you’ll see the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Arriving at the Gorge you’ll walk under the 300m high red cliff, where many rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Continuing our trip to Erfoud and Rissani where we’ll have lunch and afterwards, we’ll leave for the village of Merzouga – the home of your guide Youssef – where your camel will be awaiting you. You’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check into your accommodation. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA AREA AND THE CAMEL TREK
After breakfast in the hotel you’ll start your explorative journey of the area, visiting the ‘village of the blacks’, originally slaves from Sudan to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations, including flamingos. You may also like to visit the nomad wire house where many Berber handicrafts are priced lower than in the big cities. On the afternoon you’ll mount your camel, guided by an experienced Camel man, to explore inside the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. Here you’ll spend your first night under the stars, or if you prefer, in a traditional Berber nomad tent. Dinner will be served in the tent where you’lll spend the night. Dinner Bed and Breakfast.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ZIZ VALLEY – ERRACHIDIA
Early morning your camel guide will wake you up to watch what well may be the best sunrise in your life. Afterwards you’ll camel trek back to your Riad in Merzouga. After breakfast, you’ll travel to Errachidia via the towns of Rissani and Erfoud. In Rissani you’ll have the opportunity to walk within the authentic Souk, an assortment of vegetables, spices and dates; here also you’ll see a lot of conversations; hooded men and veiled women. Your journey will continue to Errachidia along the magnificent rich Ziz valley. Here you’ll stop to enjoy the panoramic view over the Ziz Canyon before you get to your hotel. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad. Dinner Bed and Breakfast.

DAY 5: ERRACHIDIA – TIZI NTALGHAMT PASS – MIDLET – AZROU – FEZ
After breakfast in your hotel, you’ll travel to Fes via Midlet and Ifrane. Your journey will be along the rich Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass to Midelt. Stopping in Zaida, you’ll enjoy a barbecue and refresh with a glass of mint tea before continuing your journey to Azrou, a berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains, before which we stop to see the Barbarian apes in the famous Cedar forest. Then onto Ifrane “the French village”, to stop for some photos or a drink before heading onto your accommodation in Fes where the tour ends.
